MILTON KEYNES, 1 Oct - France scored five tries on their way to a bonus-point victory over Canada and the top of Pool D but they were pushed mighty hard by spirited Canada in Milton Keynes, in front of a crowd of 28,145.  Gareth Rees' Canadian team may still have a solitary point to show for their considerable efforts, but after running Italy close at Elland Road, they scored two tries in the space of four first-half minutes.  France were grateful to Frederic Michalak, whose immaculate kicking yielded 14 points and saw him beat Thierry Lacroix's all-time France record of 124 points at Rugby World Cup.   France led 24-12 at half-time thanks to tries from Wesley Fofana and props Guilhem Guirado and Rabah Slimani.
